XML Feed Customer Documentation

Feed Summary

Schedule Feeds

The schedule feeds contain upcoming scheduled competitions for the season. These feeds do not contain competitions that have already been played; these competitions are available in the results feed.

Results Feeds

The results feeds are similar to the schedule feeds, but contain only completed competitions. For team sports, the final score of the competition is included. For Golf tournaments, the winning entry is included. For NASCAR races, the pole and winning drivers are included.

Live Scores Feeds

Live scores feeds contain the state of the live competition. We handle the competition update entry ourselves without any 3rd party providers which really makes the competition 'live', not five minutes old. The time between data entry and the updated XML feed should be very small, so customers have access to updates almost immediately.

Live scores feeds are arranged so that there is one file per competition. This competition file will then be updated every time there are changes. The file always contains the complete, up-to-date state of the competition.

Old competition files remain on the server for two days before being automatically removed.

Use the Atom feeder to know about updates and set the polling interval to something fairly small, for example 5 seconds. It is important to use the 'newerThan' parameter with the Atom feeder when polling is frequent like this.

Boxscore Feeds

Boxscore feeds contain both the current in-progress game results as well as the complete post-competition results. There is one boxscore file per competition which is created shortly after the official information becomes available. Certain data currently available in post-game boxscores is not available while the game is in-progress, such as "game result" statistics including "games_played", etc.  Only player statistics are included in the in-progress boxscore; team scores are available from the live scores feed.  For Golf, this information is provided under the label "tournament feeds" and contains the results of all tournament entries. For NASCAR, this information is provided under the label "recap feeds" and contains the results of all drivers.

Use the Atom feeder to know when boxscores have been updated.

Team Feeds

Team feeds contain the team listing for the season per league. Teams have full detail and season information.

The team feeds include 'all-star' teams where applicable. These teams are not listed within a division as they do not belong to one; they can be found under the conference they belong to. All-star teams also include 'team-type' metadata specifying that they are 'all-star'.

Team-Stats Feeds

Team-stats feeds contain up-to-date season statistics for all of the teams in a league. The statistics are broken down into several different stat-groups (for example, regular-season and post-season statistics are typically separate), depending on the sport and league.

Standings Feeds

Standings feed include up to date standings for all of the teams in a league. That stat groups include statistics relative to how the team fairs in the overall, home/away, conference, division, and post-season.

Player Feeds

Player feeds contain player listings by team, season and league. Players have full detail and season information. For NASCAR, this information is provided under the label 'driver feeds'.

Player-Stats Feeds

Player-stats feeds contain up-to-date season statistics for all players. These feeds are provided on a team-by-team basis, with one file per team, which makes them a more manageable in size. The statistics are broken down into several different stat-groups (for example, regular-season and post-season statistics are typically separate), depending on the sport and league. For NASCAR, this information is provided under the label 'driver-stats feeds'.

Be aware that players are often traded between teams during a season. Therefore it is possible to encounter statistics for the same player in more than one file. In this situation, the statistics reflect the performance of the player while they played on the particular team; full-season statistics can be obtained by summing the player's statistics from all teams they played for.

Injuries Feeds

Injuries feeds describe all currently injured player including their up-to-date status. This feed may also include penalties or other events that prohibit players from playing, depending on sport and league.

Odds Feeds

Odds feeds contain odds set by public Sportsbooks for most competitions and sports. There are two classes of odds feeds: standard and premium. The difference is that the premium feeds contain odds from more than one Sportsbook, and they update more often (premium feeds update every 5 minutes, and standard feeds every 10 minutes).

Be aware that odds feeds can be rather large files, so do not needlessly download them and burden your system.
